Investigating the Style Dichotomy of the 'Heated Rivalry' Heartthrobs - Vogue
Thanks to their breakout series, Heated Rivalry (cheer for gay hockey, everyone!), actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie are the new darlings of Hollywood. As a result, the two costars were among the buzziest and most anticipated celebrities attending the 2026 Met Gala last night. This year, both Williams and Storrie made their grand Met Gala debuts, and from the main red carpet to the after-party circuit, the two heartthrobs embarked on wildly individual fashion journeys. So let’s investigate, shall we? (And no, die-hard HudCon fans, this is not a brutal who-wore-it-best situation. We are simply doing a deep dive for fun here.) Storrie, for starters, hit the Met Gala step-and-repeat last night wearing an elegant and refined Saint Laurent look. The crowd went absolutely wild when Storrie removed his black blazer on the Met steps, revealing his chiseled bare arms in a sweeping, polka-dotted muslin top with dress trousers and boots. His sleek style feels both timeless and modern, but the dash of skin is also a smart move: He’s giving the girls and gays exactly what we want. Williams, on the other hand, went for a much bolder, theatrical look on the Met steps. His powder blue Balenciaga suit, with black crystal embroidery and tassels, was inspired by a 1947 bolero jacket originally designed by Cristóbal Balenciaga. (We love an archival reference.) To make the design feel more 2026 hot guy approved, Williams bared his chest. Meanwhile groomer Aika Flores added some colorful eye makeup. Storrie’s arms, Williams’s abs: Thirsts were quenched on a Monday. Where Storrie is choosing to go understated, Williams is veering more ostentatious with his wardrobe—and it’s a fashion direction that continued into the evening’s Met Gala after-parties

last night. Once the main event was wrapped, Storrie hit up the GQ and Saint Laurent bashes in a second striking look: a brown Saint Laurent suit with a built-in shoulder cape trailing elegantly behind him in the wind. Sure, his entire chest was out—and we’re certainly not complaining about that—yet the ensemble did not feel crass or cheesy. Storrie is good at the art of elevating: He almost looks as if he smells of expensive perfume. Williams, meanwhile, went more bad boy for his after-party outfit. He emerged from a sprinter van wearing a look from ERL’s fall 2026 collection. Up top, the cropped tuxedo blazer—punctuated with brooches—and white shirt felt refined and dressy. Yet the white boxer shorts, backward cap, and grills (yes, grills!) made it feel just a little more raucous. Naughty. It’s funny: On Heated Rivalry, Williams’s character Shane is so buttoned-up and serious—but IRL his closet is the total opposite. He’s unafraid to have fun, take risks, and subvert classic menswear codes. Though the two stars are swiftly rising in the spotlight together—a bona fide hit show will do that—it’s been totally enjoyable to watch Williams and Storrie carve out their different personal styles this year, especially at The Met. Part of that is a strategy, of course—a clear approach to differentiate themselves outside of always being a packaged deal, each offering Hollywood a taste of something different. There is also no clear winner for the standout style here. When it comes to engaging with hunks, what’s wrong with experimenting? The Heated Rivalry boys are offering us the best of both worlds—and we hope they simply never change. Now, who do we have to bribe to speed up production of Heated Rivalry season two?
